The handouts.
I’m attending ASAE’s Great Ideas Conference.
It’s sunny Florida.
I’m loving seeing my friends.
Getting ready for the sessions I’m doing tomorrow.
All was well until - I picked up my name badge.
They handed me a jump drive with a logo on it.
Nice.
Until they tell me I have to download the handouts on my own.
Why aren’t the handouts in the nifty jump [...]

What’s going on?
Do you ever feel like your volunteer effort is going in a black hole?
You get the request.
You do the work.
You send it in - and don’t hear a word.
Where did your hard work go?
If they didn’t get it, they would contact you, right?
If they did get it, wouldn’t they contact you too?
A black hole [...]

Might make your team communication easier too.
I’m on the board of a Michigan organization with members spread across the state.
Have started using CollectiveX as an online groupsite for our board.
It’s very easy to use.
Has lots of neat functions for chapters.
And it can be free - we have not found the ads too intrusive.
So far, we are pretty [...]

What I’ve been saying for years - including yesterday!
This morning while cruising my Google Alerts, I discovered a newly-released white paper about Gen X and Gen Y Women.
(Google Alerts, in case you don’t know, is a great way to track what’s being said online about things you’re interested in.)
The International Museum of Women interacted [...]

I just got at least two hours/week back in my life.
If I do the math that equals:
104 hours/year
2.5 work weeks (if you work 40 hours/week)
4 full days of my life!
And I don’t have to change a thing.
Wait. What’s the problem you ask?
I could have had this time back over a year ago.
Instead, due to [...]

Tonight at 6 PM Apple’s new operating system - called Leopard - had a world debut.
As long-time Mac lovers, James and I decided to join the party.
By the time we arrived at the mall, we were numbers 106 and 107 in the line!
The Apple store was closed.
A guard stood at the door as the crowds [...]

Makes Cynthia a boring person!
The last few weeks I’ve been consumed with work getting the Chapter Leaders Playground up. If not on the road speaking somewhere, I often start at 5 AM - and am still on my computer at 10 PM.
Talk about a sure way to become dull!
With the weather so pretty, we [...]

I found an amazing website on the Internet this morning…
Farecast.com gives you the inside scoop on what you should be paying for airfare.
For example, I have to go to Chicago at the end of July. When I checked the price at Northwest (the major Detroit carrier), the lowest fare came up $139.
It seemed high to [...]
