I was intrigued.
They gave the URL.
My computer was in my lap.
I went to their website.
And everything went downhill.
I wanted to see if an event was scheduled in Michigan.
Tried to use their calendar.
And could not figure it out.
I was shocked.
I’ve been surfing for years.
A simple calendar search should be a no-brainer.
It wasn’t.
I couldn’t make it give me what [...]

Close the sale!
I needed a new coat.
Got an ad from a favorite store.
Cute coats on sale!
Zipped out in the morning to snag what I wanted.
I quickly found my coat.
Good fit and color.
Grabbed a sweater also on sale.
Happily proceeded to the check out.
The sales associate asked me if I was local.
There was a secret sale on [...]

Timing is everything!
A little cafe opened down the street from us.
James and I decided to check it out.
We like Middle Eastern food.
Plus it is so close.
We ate our lunch at a tiny table.
In the sunshine.
Close to the order line.
Easy to eavesdrop.
A little rush followed us.
Only the manager at the counter.
Running hard.
Yelling for more help.
It was [...]

Not all have.
Yesterday James and I heard David Alan Grier (DAG) talk.
To 100 folks at the Ann Arbor Library.
DAG is a Michigan Man
He talked about his book - Barack Like Me; The Chocolate Covered Truth.
DAG read a few selections.
Made me laugh and cry.
Man does he have the voice.
Wish he would read to me every [...]

He failed reality!
Today I got a call.
From a man named Angel.
Perhaps that was a sign.
The call was going to be out of this world?
“Hello…”
He launched into his pitch.
His team was going to transform our government relations efforts.
Huh?
I tried to stop him - he pressed on.
They knew how to get members involved.
Could build a grassroots [...]

Register today.
Today I got an email from an acronym organization asking me to attend their program.
I have no idea who they are.
Their promotions don’t give a lot of clues.
Topics are pretty generic.
Tried to check their domain name.
The one in their return address.
Got a temporary page holder.
Still clueless about sender.
Just noticed graphics in the message.
I don’t usually [...]

At least in Atlanta.
I’ve been in Atlanta for 48 hours.
Some of the nicest 48 hours in a long time.
From the moment I arrived in airport.
To the present.
I decided to take the MARTA rails to my hotel.
Had two employees help me get my card.
The train was clean.
Fellow riders were welcoming.
My hotel arrival experience was the [...]

Do you know?
Today I got another email from an association I belong to.
Generic in nature.
Asking me to help.
They want me to recruit members for them.
They give me three reasons why I should do it.
To give back to the community
Gain visibility.
Get recognition.
Give back to community is biggest push.
It’s kissing cousin to “Do the right thing.”
Which [...]
