Do Your Goals Make You Giggle?

Mine does.
James and I vacation at a beach.

I worried re missing my strength training.
So I asked Mollie.
She had the answer - and gave me a new goal.

I need to find a beach guys lifting gym.

Walk in like I belong there.
Workout with total confidence.
And real weights - not typical 2-5# weights for women.

Bonus points if I [...]

What’s Yours is Mine and What’s Mine is Mine

GiGi’s current motto.
The dogs raked it in over Christmas.

Both got nice toys.
Lots of squeak.
And miscellaneous pieces to chew off.

GiGi, our young dog, is a toy hoarder.

She put all the toys into a pile.
Raindrop’s toys.
And hers.

No one is allowed to touch the toys.

She plays with each one through a rotation of sorts.
Raindrop is not welcome.
(However sometimes [...]

Gentle GiGi Solves the Problem

Unbelievable.

GiGi loves to walk.

She walks very fast.
And pulls hard - in spite of being small.
It’s not fun to walk her this way.

For months I’ve tried to break the pulling habit.

Commanding “No pull!”
In my best alpha dog voice.
Combined with a yank on the lead.

Improvement was slow.

James didn’t reinforce my way this fall.
Progress disappeared.
Now with his [...]

Who’s That Guy?

Beats me.
Saw a new billboard on the way to the airport.

Wasn’t sure what it was about.
Had a photo of an older guy on it.
With 1-800-CALL- in front of the photo.

I have no idea who the guy is.

James didn’t either.
Older white guy with glasses.
But not Santa.

Someone spent a lot of money for a “clever” ad.

Assumed drivers [...]

I’ve Got the Smart Phone Blues

UGH.

A few days ago I got a new phone.

A smart phone.
Dressed up in a purple skin.
Designed to put the world on fire.

Unfortunately it’s been a bit of a headache for me.

I left the next morning for ASAE annual meeting.
The new phone has thrown me some curves.
In unexpected ways.

I’m not sure how to transport it.

My [...]

I Finally Reached the Big 5-0

Pounds that is.
Today I weigh 50 pounds less than my all time high.

Not proud of the high.
But definitely proud of the loss.
It’s a milestone on my fitness path.

For a long while I felt like I couldn’t lose the weight.

Was I going to spend the rest of my life big?
How did I get this way?
Why me?

Last [...]

You are a Blip in the Universe

Wake up.

Today James and I attended Ann Arbor’s 4th of July Parade.

Enjoyed seeing people we knew.
Watching the action.
Soaking up the lovely day.

We weren’t ready to go home after the parade.

Decided to grab a bite at a new tiny new place.
Walked over.
They weren’t open yet.

What a shame.

About 20 people had the same idea as [...]

They Can Definitely be Double Trouble

Twins, no.
We have two dogs.

Raindrop who is almost seven years old.
GiGi who is almost nine months.
Both are chugs - chihuahua/pugs.

Lately something strange has been going on.

If I call GiGi, Raindrop comes running.
If I call Raindrop, GiGi comes.
It’s sort of amusing.

Are they trying to play the identical twin game?

Switching names.
Faking people out.
As if we can’t tell [...]
