It’s frustrating.
A few years ago, I was very happy.
My favorite store started an email list.
I signed up.
Got periodic special deals.
As time passed, so did the frequency of emails.
Last few months, it’s almost daily.
The big sale of the year.
Like the Groundhog Day movie - over and over.
Now they want to be my Facebook friend.
To invade [...]

For the girls.
I just dropped my dogs off at Doghouse.
It’s their favorite place to stay when they can’t stay with us.
Doghouse is not your typical kennel.
(If you are in Ann Arbor, you should check them out.)
Raindrop and GiGi are very different dogs.
Raindrop is seven and prefers people to dogs.
GiGi is just a little over one [...]

My blood feels tainted.
I have a dirty little secret…
I love to watch Michigan Women’s Basketball games.
Saw my first one of the season tonight.
Was neat to see how the women have grown since last year.
What’s the problem?
My blood runs green.
(At least it used to.)
I’m a proud Michigan State grad.
Tonight I told James I’m considering buying [...]

They rock.
Last week we had our gutters replaced.
The old ones were sad.
Put up by former owner.
Lots of messy caulking and leaks.
I like to be in charge of home improvements.
Spent childhood helping Dad do stuff.
Makes me feel good.
Plus I’m fascinated by it.
Some contractors are clueless.
They don’t respect women as decision makers.
Think James should be their contact.
Especially on [...]

Tripped by risky action.
Today I got a request to do a survey.
From an organization I belong to.
Asked social media questions.
And questions to determine member values.
What was the problem?
Three questions didn’t work.
The survey was not set properly.
Data would be meaningless.
I tried to help.
Shot the staff person in charge an email around 8 AM.
Perhaps she could change [...]

Yet all together.
Today I saw a dad and two sons.
Eating lunch together.
At a nice restaurant.
Seated in the extra special area.
They did not talk for the bulk of lunch.
All three had iPhones.
Consumed by them.
Ignoring each other.
They didn’t seem angry with each other.
Just busy.
Typing away.
Shoving food in their mouths.
At the end, the two boys got up [...]

What would you do?
Got an email from a membership organization.
They decided they want closer relationships with members.
Identified a team of volunteers.
To meet with their members.
To grease the skids, the leaders…
Informed members volunteers would be calling.
Explained they want a “brief” 15 minutes.
Asked please meet with them.
What’s my problem?
What’s in it for me to give my [...]

Again.
Hard to believe I’m mid-point in the Lazy Leader Road Show tour.
The first half has been exciting.
From Murfreesboro, TN to Marin, CA.
Be-bopping across the country.
Diverse groups of leaders at each location.
Registered dietitians and CPAs.
National Exchange Club leaders and interior designers.
Girl Scouts and BMW Car Club leaders.
Feedback has been outrageous.
Participants finding new success practically overnight.
Leaders believing [...]
