That’s Not Me!

   Or is it?
Raindrop is a cool dog.

She’s a people dog.
Would rather hang with us than play with dogs.
It’s just the way she is - or is it?

Today we dropped Raindrop and GiGi at a doggy daycare.

We want GiGi (our puppy) more socialized.
And better trained.
Raindrop could use some refreshers.

The girls did the qualifying visit earlier [...]

A Ghost on the Second Floor

   Was it possible?
This past weekend James was at his state swim meet.

I was home by myself.
For three days and two nights.
With only the dogs.

The first night I wondered…

A light flashed as I walked up the steps.
When I got to the second floor - nothing.
No lamps or computers on.

The light must have been outside.

Reflecting in the [...]

Mother Nature Threw Me a Challenge

ARGH!
I was so excited about the Lazy Leader Road Show starting tomorrow.

I practically soared as I drove up to Grand Rapids.
Visualizing the cool program in my mind.
As I kept one eye on the road.

I arrived in Grand Rapids to a shocker.

They were canceling evening events like crazy.
Ice storm on the way.
It was going to [...]

I Didn’t Think I Could Do It

   But I did.
I met with my trainer Mollie today.

Mollie is a trip.
I never know what I’m walking in to.
And yet always leave knowing I worked out.

Today felt sort of usual.

Creative exercises.
My face bright red.
My determination strong.

50 minutes into sweating, Mollie asked if I had enough.

Or if I had 10 more minutes in me?
Like a [...]

Just Because You Can Doesn’t Mean You Should

Especially at 2:30 AM!
Last night I went to bed early.

Sleep had been hard to catch this week.
With GiGi the puppy joining us.
I needed a good night of sleep.

All was going well until 2:30 AM.

My phone started buzzing.
I woke in a panic.
Ready to jump into action.

Was it Mom or Dad?

I sleep with my phone by [...]

I Can See Clearly Now

   Cool.
This weekend I spoke for SHRM in Redondo Beach, CA.

Stayed at an interesting place.
With a new restuarant.
Supposed to be hip.

Decided to check out the restaurant.

Went to dinner with Peggy Hoffman and her husband.
(They were also working with SHRM.)
Being at a wharf, it had a nautical theme.

The neatest thing was the menus.

When the server handed [...]

Who Let the Dog In?

   Raindrop here.
I had a good life.

Parents who spoiled me.
A big yard.
Neighbors who adored me.

I don’t understand why GiGi the puppy showed up.

She is a pest.
Wants to be part of everything.
She’s ruining my perfect life!

I like how we used to do things.

Now we have to worry about the young dog.
What will GiGi like?
Who cares!

Mom and Dad [...]

Great Ideas Left Unseen

Literally.
Was at the new stir fry place.

Do it yourself.
Until you reach the sauces.
Then work with the sauce expert.

The woman next to me was a first-timer.

Pondered out loud where to start.
Sharp waitress seized the moment.
Offered card filled with suggestions to help the woman.

The problem?

The font was small.
Maybe nine points.
And the food bar area pretty dim.

The [...]
