All the warning signs were there.
Tonight, we had quite the adventure with Raindrop.
The first sign something was off - she wanted to sleep near my head.
Usually Raindrop sleeps at the foot of our bed.
Tonight, she insisted on being higher up.
Maybe she was still getting over my week on the road? (Hah!)
She moved to get even closer [...]

With adoring fans!
I’ve just spent a week on the road attending ASAE’s annual meeting in San Diego then speaking this morning in Indianapolis.
I finally arrived home tonight.
James picked me up from the airport with a big kiss and welcome home gift.
The waiter at our favorite restaurant said he missed me.
And then there’s my dog Raindrop…
She [...]

I’m about to go on the road for a week!
Yesterday Raindrop stared at me while I worked.
Last night she was relentless.
Raindrop wanted to be close.
She wanted my attention.
All through the night.
Finally I got up at 4 AM.
It was obvious Raindrop was agitated.
And I wasn’t going to get to sleep.
So I trudged downstairs thinking…
I’m about to fly to [...]

Her name is Tutu.
Raindrop spent the last week at her grandparents with her new “sister” Tutu.
Tutu is a 10-pound rat terrier.
She’s a rescue dog.
She’s the pesky little sister Raindrop never wanted to have.
Raindrop loves her already.
My parents keep Raindrop for us a few weeks every year due to travel.
Mom and Dad had to put Snowy to sleep [...]

Me!
Raindrop here. Mom’s busy working on the Chapter Leaders Playground fall schedule, so I dragged her extra laptop into my house - and here I am!
Mom cracks me up about how she’s training me to speak.
Come on, deep down I’m a dog.
I’m on the official neighborhood greeting committee because I bark so well.
She’s not [...]

Speak for a treat.
I’ve been working on teaching Raindrop to speak on command.
She barks a lot.
We live on a corner.
She likes to say “hi” to everyone.
According to the pros, the best way to teach a dog to not bark is to teach them how to speak on command.
It’s been a trip.
At first I had [...]

I miss my dog.
Yesterday we took Raindrop for her annual 4th of July visit with my folks.
She’ll be there almost ten days.
Last night I heard 20 separate fireworks episodes in our neighborhood.
If Raindrop was here, we would both have needed valium.
(Her for the noise - and me for having to watch her fear.)
Today our house is way [...]

And the fame rolls on…
Raindrop’s photo from last week’s AP article about backyard firewords scaring her is now being used with other 4th of July articles.
This weekend, Raindrop also got a card in the mail addressed to her.
The message read:
Congrats Raindrop on your photo in the paper.
Why was the card addressed to Raindrop - and not me?
I was [...]
