Raindrop vs. The Evil Eggs

Raindrop won.
I just finished fixing lunch.

Scrambled eggs.
Looking yummy.
I scooped up to serve to plates.

Splat!

I dropped a chunk of scrambled eggs on the floor.
Maybe a quarter cup.
Drats!

In a flash, a black and white figure sprang to my feet.

Grabbed those eggs in her mouth.
And shook her head viciously.
Breaking the eggs’ “neck” - and spraying them everywhere.

Raindrop’s [...]

Feeling Like a Star

   And liking it.
Last month I attended my first PCMA meeting.

Jeff Hurt and Dave Lutz asked me to speak.
As part of their very cool Learning Lounge.
I did two 12-minute talks.

I spoke as a volunteer.

Thought it would be a good way to meet people.
I am a new member.
Didn’t know a lot of folks.

Jeff and Dave totally [...]

Torn Between Two Trainers

   Feeling like a fool…
Today was my first workout with my new trainer.

Her name is Mollie.
She’s very nice - no need for nerves.
A fabulous teacher.

She’s also not Joy - my former trainer.

Mollie uses different machines than Joy.
Different types of exercises.
Focuses on different muscles.

Part of me wanted to ask what was going on.

That’s now how we do things!
I [...]

The Winds of Change are Blowing

My life changes tomorrow.
Tomorrow, Monday, I start a new chapter of my life.

I’ve been dreading this day.
And looking forward to it as well.
My heart is sad and mind excited.

Joy, Queen of Torture, my beloved trainer, is flying to Germany.

To live there for a year with her family.
When I first heard, I cried - big [...]

I Owe a Man I’ll Never Meet

Ah the kindness of strangers.
Mom and Dad got close to 10 inches of snow.

They woke to a blanket of snow yesterday.
And a loud racket outside.
A neighbor snowblowing their driveway.

Last night the city snow plows came through.

This morning two feet of icy snow blocked their drive.
Dad wasn’t up to shoveling.
So Mom took it on.

Mom’s not [...]

Don’t Ask, I Won’t Tell

Straight talking.
Recently I’ve gotten several requests from acquaintances.

They know I’m good at marketing.
Want me to give them feedback on their work.
Ask for gut reactions.

Unfortunately, I don’t always get their efforts.

And tell them so.
Or have the nerve to ask questions.
Who is your target market and what do they want?

The lack of accolades from me seems [...]
