Lessons Learned from Three Weeks Lost

   Looking for silver lining.

For the last three weeks I’ve had flu.

  • It hasn’t been fun.
  • Flat on my back.
  • Feeling like…nothing.

My brain didn’t work.

  • I couldn’t hold a thought.
  • Spin an idea.
  • Scheme about what could be.

It just was.

  • The stillness was very scary.
  • I’m mercurial.
  • Running at warp speed most of the time.

Finally clawing way back to health.

  • I don’t want it to happen again.
  • Trying to figure out how to avoid in the future.
  • What did flu teach me?

Here’s what I came up with.

  • I work too much.
  • Need to focus on taking time off.
  • And working out more.

It’s not rocket science.

  • And yet a big potential change for me.
  • Some old habits to break.
  • And new ones to develop.

It’s better to stretch to be more balanced - than sick for three weeks!

Makes me think of chapter leaders…do you need to do some stretching to make your chapter healthier?

  1. Understand how chapter members think and act. And remember, most of them don’t work all of the time (and neither should you).

  2. So true David. So true.

Thanks for stopping by - and happy new year!
