Forget About Elvis!

What do you do on a beautiful summer afternoon?
- We attended the Michigan Elvisfest.
- Never gone before.
- Was 10 miles from our house.
It was non-stop Elvis songs performed by impersonators on the main stage.
- Everywhere we turned we saw more Elvises. (Elvi?)
- Did you know you there are 100s of ways to wear Elvis clothes?
- And all sorts of Elvis favorite food products too?
- We sat on the hill.
- Did major people watching.
- Some of the performers were pretty good too.
The kid next to us was not having as much fun.
- His dad was dressed as Elvis blinged out.
- People gushed and asked to take photos with him.
- The kid was ignored.
He decided to shift the attention his way.
- Grabbed handfulls of grass.
- Threw them in his red wagon.
- Packed the grass to get it to stick together.
With great triumph, he plastered the grass on his head.
- (He looked like a Chia pet of sorts.)
- He strutted his stuff.
- And true Elvis fans continued to ignore him.
I admired the kid’s creativity.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…Do you notice what your members doing to get your attention?
