What’s Wrong with This Picture?

HINT: Photo was taken this morning.
- At the start of the Motor City Mile Swim for the Cure.
- An open water swim held at Belle Isle Beach.
- A public beach located in the center of Detroit, MI.
Guesses anyone?
Makes me think of chapter leaders…what do you see when you really look around the room at your chapter meetings?

there isn’t any diversity and there isn’t anything saying why people are there.
Thanks for playing Linda! The lack of diversity is what I noticed this morning.
Detroit is something like 82% African-American and yet a race held at a public park in the city of Detroit - was overwhelmingly white.
The racers were not representative of the area the race was held in - even though most were from Detroit area.
It made me wonder how often chapter leaders look around the room and really note how well the population who could belong does belong in their chapter, attends regularly and serves on their board.
Also if they have speakers at chapter meetings and lined a year’s worth up in one room, would the crowd look like the larger population of the profession or industry of the chapter? (If that kind of organization.)
It’s food for thought.
