Forget the Economy…

It’s the desert that’s bleeding me dry!
Two days ago, I flew out to Albuquerque.

The flight was very long.
I didn’t drink as much water as I should.
I could feel my skin drying out on the plane.

I finally reached my hotel in the late afternoon.

And I was bushed.
Said hello to my clients.
And 15 minutes later was sleeping like [...]

The Twitter Impact…

   At ASAE’s Great Ideas conference.
Twittering was encouaraged at Great Ideas.

A core group tweeted (shared) what was going on.
Key ideas from sessions.
As well as where to meet later on.

Twitter for those who don’t know…

Allows people to send out short bursts of information.
It goes to the entire world via the web.
You can add special characters to [...]

Missing Something at Great Ideas

   The handouts.
I’m attending ASAE’s Great Ideas Conference.

It’s sunny Florida.
I’m loving seeing my friends.
Getting ready for the sessions I’m doing tomorrow.

All was well until - I picked up my name badge.

They handed me a jump drive with a logo on it.
Nice.
Until they tell me I have to download the handouts on my own.

Why aren’t the handouts in the nifty jump [...]

The Man in a Blue Suit Sat Next to Me

   For a pedicure.
Peggy Hoffman tagged me in blog game - a meme.

To talk about word of mouth marketing.
As it relates to play.
What better than a pedicure?

Yesterday I’m at the spa and my pedicure is almost done.

I’m just waiting for the polish on my toes to finish drying.
In walks a businessman.
Looking sort of flustered.

He plops [...]

Hey VIP, We Want YOU at Our Event!

   Give me a break.
Today I got a letter inviting me to a BIG event.

An anniversary celebration.
Going to solve the recession challenges for my business.
Featuring a local marketing guru.

Plus I’m a VIP!

It said so in writing.
And was highlighted in yellow!
They really want me there.

What’s wrong with this picture?
If I’m really a VIP…

I would have got [...]

What’s a $1,000,000 Worth?

    An ice rink?
In the news today, the former treasurer of the Ann Arbor Amateur Hockey Association was exposed for embezzling.

$934,000 in a little over two years.
Decades of fundraising efforts lost.
The money to buy a new ice hockey rink.

She was “remorseful” for using the hockey group’s money.

She bought lots of jewelry.
Sent her family on a nice vacation.
Bought her hubby [...]

There was Only 1,000

   So we got there early.
Tonight we attended the UM Women’s Basketball game.

It was a pink game.
Fundraiser for Women’s Health Center
Lots of things to do pregame.

Plus, the first 1,000 people there got pom poms!

It’s much more fun to have toys to help cheer the team on.
We made the cut.
And got our shiny pink pom poms.

I began to [...]

The 990 and You

   Be my guest.
Next week, I’m interviewing Mark Dorsey MBA, CAE about the new 990 Form.

For a webinar program.
At the Chapter Leaders Playground.
On Tuesday, Feb 17th at 1 PM ET

During my prep call today with Mark, I got surprising insights about the requirements of the new form.

The IRS wants to know about more than just your chapter finances.
They [...]
