A Farewell to Cheers

One of the great finds of Ann Arbor was the restaurant around the corner from where we live.
- The food was great.
- Everyone knew my name.
- I felt special whenever I went in there.
James and I like to support local businesses.
- This was a perfect fit.
- We did a lot of business meetings there.
- It was very convenient.
This week my world turned on a pin.
- There was a new name on the building.
- It was the last day for the guy who always greeted us at the door.
- Almost everyone was leaving.
And there was more…
- The food was different.
- My favorite salad lost its zingy taste.
- The new chef doused it with herbs I didn’t like.
We probably won’t go back much.
- We could build relationships with new folks.
- It’s still convenient.
- But the food doesn’t taste good to me.
The new herby, earthy approach to cooking is a deal breaker for me - bummer.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…do you know the real reason why your members don’t renew?
