A Typical Rite Aid Welcome?
Posted on October 11th, 2008 by Cynthia D'Amour
I stopped at the new drug store on the corner to pick up a few things.
The supervisor rang me up.
- My bill - a whopping $3.28
- I held out my CVS card to get credit.
- (Every sale counts!)
The guy ignored my card.
- I pushed it a little closer to him.
- Still nothing.
- “Excuse me, you forgot to zap my card.”
He barely looked at me and said sternly, “We’re not CVS.”
- UGH! I bought two Rite Aid products - and it still didn’t register.
- I always go to CVS.
- This store is new.
I felt sort of dumb at his almost curt reply.
- “Hmmm… must not be awake yet,” I mumbled.
- Then I felt even dumber.
- It was almost 5 PM!
Boy did that guy miss an opportunity!
- He could have welcomed me to the store.
- Said he was glad to meet me.
- Instead, I walked out feeling a bit foolish.
Will I go there again?
- Probably - it’s on the corner.
- But, I’ll go to CVS first.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you respond when a new member unknowingly says something not quite right? Do they feel even more connected with your feedback - or walk out wondering why they joined?
