Would You Trust This Group?

After reading this, perhaps not.
I just got an email from an organization promoting a high-end, exclusive seminar.
- It’s executive content.
- Speakers in high demand.
- Only 25 total participants.
When I checked out the details, I found this statement:
“Due to overwhelming demand the deadline for applications has been extended to Sept. 12th.
Limited seating“
(I did the bolding.)
Huh?
- If there’s overwhelming demand, why extend the deadline?
- Seems like they should be running out of seats.
- If they were telling the truth…
Marketing exaggerations like the above don’t work as well as they used to.
- Especially with younger members who were raised on commercialism.
- And can detect BS from a distance.
“You can’t trust us” is not a message any organization should promote.
- And yet this one does - to anyone who understands logic.
- Looks like their marketing team needs some updated training.
(Ironically the program is about branding to build trust.)
Makes me think of chapter leaders…What kind of message do you give members in your promotions?
