Psst… Andy’s Got a Secret!

He let out the word out late Friday night.
Andy, a volunteer with American Society of Association Executives, is also a social networking guru kind of guy.
Andy leaked the news of a secret session at a secret time at the upcoming annual meeting taking place in San Diego.
- Two secret speakers would debate the impact of social networking.
- A hot topic for association execs.
Then Andy left a crumb…
- If you want to know more, sign up for a special Facebook group.
- When he gets permission, he will start revealing secrets.
- You need to join to get the scoop.
Imagine the frenzy…
- A secret session with secret speakers at a secret time!
- Who had ever heard of such nonsense?
- What do they mean limited space and you have to know someone in order to get the news?
By Monday 7 AM, the group had 69 members - all signed up over the weekend.
- By the end of the day, the number pushed 130.
- The word of mouth is working!
Talk about adding some excitement to a meeting. (Pass the word!)
- The creative approach woke up a lot of folks.
- It’s no doubt, the room will be packed.
- Members who won’t be there are mourning loudly.
Never underestimate the potential impact of some great descriptions with an unusual twist!
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do your members react when they read your program descriptions? Do they demand to be allowed to attend?
