Here’s to the Shopping Carts Brigade!
You brought joy to the 4th of July Parade.
On the 4th we attended the Ann Arbor Jaycee’s 4th of July Parade.
For me, it’s always a bit of a thrill to see the Jaycees produce a successful event - it’s one of my leadership legacies.
Last year I blogged about the story of how I helped the Jaycee Parade Chairs succeed - when they wondered if they were facing a flop.
This year, the Shopping Carts Brigade was one of the funniest entries.
- Most decorated their shopping carts with pizzazz.
- They danced in the streets - as if some precision team.
- (Their zany energy gave it away they weren’t.)
They represented the Dexter Community Players - a local civic theater group.
- I’m not sure how many encores they got at the end.
- However, they did increase awareness of their group with the crowds present!
Makes me think of chapter leaders…How do you tap the creativity and enthusiasm of your members to attract attention to your chapter?
