And the fame rolls on…
Raindrop’s photo from last week’s AP article about backyard firewords scaring her is now being used with other 4th of July articles.
This weekend, Raindrop also got a card in the mail addressed to her.
The message read:
Congrats Raindrop on your photo in the paper.
Why was the card addressed to Raindrop - and not me?
I was [...]

This week - and I am too.
On Tuesday afternoon, I responded to an Associated Press reporter’s inquiry looking for stories about people who don’t like backyard fireworks as a counterpoint in an article about the growth of backyard fireworks.
Raindrop is definitely one of those people, er dogs.
I talked about the abundance of fireworks in my neighborhood on [...]

This photo was in the reminder email I got last night for the board retreat starting before dawn this morning.
It’s hard to stay grumpy about the early wake up call - especially when we look so good together.
Hat’s off to Marilyn, the president-elect, for the enthusiasm booster.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you pump up your volunteers’ enthusiasm [...]

With a smile on her face!
Having just finished speaking to the association’s chapter officers, I was invited to join the tour of chapter parties.
Many chapters hosted lovely cocktail events.
They were scattered all over the large, complex hotel.
At one point, we simply could not find a party room.
We knew we were close.
And knew we were [...]

The tech guy snarled at me.
Yesterday I spoke to some association leaders at a “premiere” convention hotel in San Diego.
I arrived at the room an hour before I was to speak to check the AV.
There was none.
I found the head tech guy to see what was going on.
He told me I wasn’t supposed [...]

Because I got behind in my gardening efforts.
You wouldn’t think a dog would care if our shrub was perfectly trimmed or not.
And she didn’t - until the duck moved in.
James takes care of our entire outdoors and I take care of the flower bed in front of our porch.
I weed it twice a year.
And [...]

You too can join the ding dong club!
As I passed through the kitchen to get to the bathroom to get dressed to go out, I saw the bag of new snacks left open on the counter…
It was James’ latest adventure eating from Trader Joe’s.
Jalapeno cheese crunch things.
Yuck.
And yet, as I walked by, as if [...]

Just tell us what you mean!
After writing about my new mind mapping software, I got a few emails from readers who had no idea what I was talking about.
(Thanks for setting me straight!)
In my enthusiasm for the product, I forgot about taking people with me.
Mind mapping is a way of looking at information the [...]
