14-Hour Days in Orlando…
Spent in class - not with Mickey.
This weekend, James and I participated in Ford Saeks’ marketing intensive event.
I hadn’t looked forward to what I thought would be a grueling learning experience…
- 10-14 hour days in class.
- Having to sit still for such a long time.
- And let someone else do the bulk of the talking!
Ford’s references gave him rave reviews so we decided to take a chance on him.
To my delight, Ford exceeded my expectations - and is quite an interesting guy.
- He started his entrepreneurial career selling kindegartners tickets to recess.
- He built a million plus dollar business before he was out of his teens.
- He’s continued to build extremely successful businesses throughout his life.
What I really liked about Ford was:
- How much he cared about the people in his life.
- His willingness to learn from as well as teach those in the room.
- His ability to be both brilliant and real at the same time.
As an educator, I admired how Ford was able to create a program that met the needs of those new to marketing as well as folks like myself who learned marketing as a way of life growing up.
I’m thrilled we decided to attend the weekend with Ford.
- I took 22 pages of notes including actions I could take.
- James, new to the marketing world, proclaimed himself a marketer by the end of the program.
- We both left feeling energized and filled with neat ideas.
(You’ll have to let me know what you think as I start to implement them! Stay tuned.)
Makes me think of chapter leaders…do your members leave your chapter events feeling jazzed about what they learned with you?
