When food gets in your teeth?
I met a friend for lunch today.
- We had a great time swapping business ideas.
- We laughed a lot.
- I ran into someone I hadn’t seen in over a year.
I felt charged up from lunch - until I got in my car and looked in the rearview mirror!
OMIGOSH!
A few spices from the salad dressing had found homes between my teeth.
I looked like a dork!
Part of me wanted to chew myself out…
- Why didn’t I feel the specs ‘tween my teeth?
- This had happened once before…
Then I took charge of my head and changed the conversation…
- I had a few tiny food specks.
- Not the most attractive look - and not the worst.
- Definitely not the end of the world - let it go.
I got back to my office, brushed my teeth - and went on with my day.
(Okay, I did check with my friend. She assured me she saw nothing - and more importantly promised she would have told me if she did.)
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you make sure you react with the appropriae level of drama when curve balls come your way?
