Seeing a Little Red…

As in stop the mail train I need to get off!
I don’t know about you but it seems like my email has been taking steroids lately.
- I’ve got strong filters in place - so it’s not a lot of typical spam.
- I enjoy reading certain e-newsletters I subscribed to.
- I LOVE getting email from friends and clients.
The annoying volume has included:
- Volunteer committee members who CC every conversation - even if what’s being discussed is relevant to only a few.
- Irrelevant requests from people who pulled my name from one of the organizations I belong to.
- Too many email reminders about upcoming events from various groups - including several I do not belong to.
Coping strategies I’ve started to use include:
- Ignoring emails from certain conversations.
- Deleting based on subject lines.
- Figuring someone will call if I miss a response request.
I know I’m not alone in the recent mail surge…
E-mail is a huge and important part of my life. Just got to figure out how to get back in the driver’s seat.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…How do your members view email from you?
