Tag, I’m It!
Posted on January 25th, 2008 by Cynthia D'Amour
Kevin Holland tagged me.
In the blog world, bloggers sometimes play tag - similar to the game you may have played as a kid.
In this game, I’ve been challened to share eight things you may not know about me.
Given I encourage leaders to play together on the Chapter Leaders Playground, I had no choice but to take up the game.
Here we go…
- I taught Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl, Heroes and Veronica Mars) when she was in middle school.
- My mom was one of the first computer teachers in Michigan. She taught 30 kids using a single Commodore 64 - with a whopping 64K of RAM!
- My grandpa taught me at a very early age to debate, with great conviction, both sides of an issue.
- I believe the best pancakes are made with cottage cheese - just like Dad made them.
- James swears I sometimes snore - even though I regularly assure him that ladies do not snore!
- I would love to own a fancy camera - and know how to use all the features on it.
- My dream trip is to go to Australia - hopefully not too far away!
- My fantasy is to wake up one day and have the pipes, voice and other parts needed to belt out a song like Patty LaBelle.
So are you surprised by anything I wrote?
Now it’s my turn to tag other bloggers: Marilyn Suttle, Jody DeVere, and Wally Bock.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…what type of structured networking to you provide for your members?

I view blogging tag games a little like I do chain letters. It doesn’t bother me to be tagged or respond, but I rarely keep the letter or the game going. But I’ve known Cynthia a long time, so I’ll respond here. You can also visit my Three Star Leadership Blog (http://blog.threestarleadership.com) where you’ll discover what I do professionally and passionately.
So, eight things you may not know about me.
I’ll be doing a webinar with Cynthia on February 20 on talking to people about their performance and behavior.
I never thought I’d have a lap dog, but Lady Clementine our Cavalier has won my heart and my lap.
I love to eat good food, but a favorite treat is pretzels with vanilla ice cream.
I would have had a great career in opera, except for the fact that I have no talent.
I love the TV show, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”
Apropos of 4, one of my favorite places to eat is The Penguin in Charlotte.
One of my sons is a great computer support tech who lost his job when his bank was taken over by another bank that outsources what he does. This former Employee of the Year is looking for a new job. More info on request.
I’m a Marine vet and for years I trained police sergeants. When I go to Washington DC, I visit two walls.
Hey Wally!
Thanks for playing - and mentioning our upcoming webinar on Feb 20th!
Leaders who want to learn how to delegate so the work gets done, definitely should join us at the Chapter Leaders Playground that day!

Cynthia,
Been a travel maniac these last few weeks and just found this cool post - I accept the challenge!
1. I play the cello
2. I ride a Harley
3. I love to camp and own a motor home but tents are fine too.
4. I was a white water rafting guide for 10 years ( In my 40’s!)
5. My son Q runs the networks at UCLA!
6. I scuba dive and tend to vacation in tropical locations with great diving.
7. I caught a 110 foot sail fish once in Mexico ( catch and release)
8. I love live musical theater …attended a high school production of Westside story with my childhood friend Patti in the San Francisco Bay Area to watch her very talented daughter just this past Sunday, her dancing and acting was amazing for a 15 year old!
Hey Jody!
I hear you on the traveling machine. Thanks for the fun scoops about you! It’s no wonder that we clicked when we met.
