I Had Room to Think…
Posted on January 1st, 2008 by Cynthia D'Amour
Today, we started 2008 with almost a foot of snow to shovel.
(Great exercise, I know.)
Getting up fairly early, I stepped outside before many were stirring.
- Everything was covered with a think blanket of snow.
- The resulting quiet was addictive.
Most of the time, I usually run at a crazy, noisy pace.
- My computer keys tapping.
- James and Raindrop zipping around.
- The sounds of my own mind spinning.
This morning, the silence created fresh space for thinking.
- I wanted to stay outside and soak up the quiet all day.
- Unfortunately my feet got cold.
- And someone’s snowblower revved up.
Still, I had my moment - and the morning was a beautiful keeper.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you find room to think in a busy world?
