We Almost Ended 2007 With a Big Bang!

Luckily we caught it in time.
Yesterday morning I sat in my favorite chair in our front room and smelled something really obnoxious.
Raindrop was sitting at my feet - so I blamed her.
A few minutes later, I smelled it again - UGH!
- Raindrop was blamed once more.
- James took her for a walk.
- I left the room to take a shower.
An hour later, we were all back in the front room - and I got another smelly wiff.
- There was no way it could be Raindrop this time.
- I noticed the heat had just come on.
Something in my mind clicked…
- Rotten eggs smell.
- Heat coming on.
- Gas in the house?
We called Detroit Edison and soon had a technician at our door.
Long story short - we did have a gas leak!
Thankfully we made the connection between the smell and the furnace - and didn’t end the year with a big bang.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…do you know what to do when something smells rotten in your chapter?
