Sometimes a Goodbye…
Feels more like a welcome home!
James and I had dinner at Zingerman’s Roadhouse tonight.
I had never been to the Roadhouse before - but was very familiar with Zingerman’s commitment to quality in food and customer service.
Tonight was no different…
- The food melted in our mouths.
- Our waiter happily brought us samples when we couldn’t make up our minds.
- He even gave me a to-go cup of Diet Coke for the ride home!
Great food and customer service aside, what really got me was the Zingerman staff’s parting words.
As we walked through the restaurant to leave, any staff in the area made a point to say goodbye to us.
- The team members looked me in the eye.
- They smiled at me like I was a special friend.
- They said they hoped I would come back soon.
Something about the farewell really touched me. I felt like I was leaving a good friend’s home - and was surrounded by those who cared for me.
As crazy as it may sound, I want to go back to say goodbye again.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…do your guests leave your meetings wanting more time with your chapter?
