We Almost Ended 2007 With a Big Bang!

Luckily we caught it in time.
Yesterday morning I sat in my favorite chair in our front room and smelled something really obnoxious.
Raindrop was sitting at my feet - so I blamed her.
A few minutes later, I smelled it again - UGH!

Raindrop was blamed once more.
James took her for a walk.
I left the room to [...]

2008 Resolutions: A Muscle-Bound Man…

  And a less of me!
For the last few days, I’ve been creating an action plan for my 2008 resolutions.

My big focus is going to be on losing some weight.
James offered to join my healthy quest
He’s going work on a more defined six-pack.

I wanted to find some concrete goals to train towards.
In the weekly Jr. League of Ann [...]

Excuse Me, Do You Have Gas?

Higher prices are coming our way!
I’m doing my annual review of what’s working and what’s not - including my membership in various associations and chapters.
With so much life to live, I want to make sure I’m putting my time where I get the biggest return.
One of the groups I belong too seems like a [...]

Oh, Ah-ha, I See…

But don’t you want to know anything about me?
This week I’ve attended several holiday events and parties.

The food has been decadent.
Catching up with old friends fun.
And too many conversations were one-sided!

I’ve been amazed at how many times I was in a conversation - and not asked a single question about myself.
My conversation “partners” had [...]

Happy Holidays

  From our family to yours!
Not sure how much I’ll be writing over the next week.

There’s part of me that has a fantasy of lazy days of nothing.
I’ve got a lot to do.
Time will tell…

So, Raindrop and I decided it would be best to share her photo today.

A local doggy rescue group held a photo [...]

Looking for Strategic Conversations…

It’s no fun when I’m not prepared properly.
Today, I had another volunteer meeting to attend.
(I think every group I’m involved with scheduled for this week!)
It was supposed to be 90-minutes of pure strategic conversation.
Definitely needed - and could be fun.
What were going to talk about?

A couple of topics were floated a month ago.
No agenda was [...]

Why Didn’t Anyone Miss Me?

I asked myself as I drove home.
Last night I was supposed to attend a committee meeting I had done a lot of prep work for. Unfortunately, a conflict got in the way.
I emailed the entire committee my regrets to make sure they would know about my need to miss the meeting - and the [...]

Feeling Kinda Purple…

Purple for personal time that is.
Having my computer totally melt down has taught me lessons on many fronts.
The obvious:

I need to back up my computer every day.
There’s no such thing as “being too busy” to back up.

The less obvious:

The freedom of an empty in-box.
The power of an empty calendar.

Today I added a long list of commitments to my calendar.
Using [...]
