A Rose by Any Other Name

Icy Roses  Would be done blooming!

When we moved into our house, I inherited some rose bushes in my front garden.

If I had my way I would pull them out and put in other flowers.

  • I have never seen such thorny plants.
  • They look like tall sticks with occasional blooms.
  • The bushes are planted so close together, weeding their bed usually leaves me a touch bloody.

And it’s a battle I’m not going to win…

Unfortunately they bloom in spectacular colors which complement the decorations in our house.

(James loves having fresh roses in various rooms.)

Can you call roses dumb?

  • It’s fall in Michigan.
  • The frost has arrived.
  • The nights are in the 20s

And my favorite rose bushes are blooming like crazy!

I thought roses were summer plants.

(Why don’t they act like they are supposed to?)

I guess I just have to let go - and enjoy the beauty they bring.

Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you appreciate your members who are “alternative” thinkers?
