It was Sunny and in the 50s…
Sounded like a great time to go for an ice cream break!
Okay, we don’t usually take off in the middle of the day to go to the Washtenaw Dairy - the best ice cream in Ann Arbor.
But we needed to feel alive and celebrate living.
Shivering in our coats while eating ice cream in the shade of building with the wind blowing - and Raindrop watching our every mouthful with her big eyes just begging for a lick…
We were focused on living large in the moment.
(If we didn’t, we might have lost our ice cream to you know who!)
Today we got some sad news…
- A long-time friend shared their 20 year old son is very sick.
- What a wake up call.
If that kid can focus on having fun next spring - in spite of all he has in front of him, we can certainly wake up from the numbness of being busy to have an ice cream experience in his honor.
The afternoon has given me pause to rethink some of the boundaries in my own life.
Even though I love what I do, I need to commit more time to finding joy in every day.
Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you celebrate “ice cream breaks” in your every day life?
