Laboring on Labor Day
Well, I kept my word and stayed away from work almost the entire holiday weekend…
- It felt good.
- I guess I needed the break.
With time on my hands, I ventured into our backyard to help James spiffy up the crazy growth.
We had a lot of overgrown bushes, renegade trees, etc. needing attention.
Armed with new garden shears (with serrated blades) I was ready to spring into action!
After a few hours of snipping, chopping and sawing…
- My arms felt ready to fall off.
- We were drenched in sweat.
- We had a huge pile of debris.
WOW!
By removing the dead wood and pruning back wayward branches our backyard look very different - almost like a new yard - and yet the same!
Made me think of chapter leaders…when’s the last time your board did some pruning with your chapter activities?
