Over the last few days, I’ve become reacquainted with the power of crutches.
As a result, I’m rethinking my world view on the concept of crutches.
“Crutch” is commonly used in leadership talk in a more negative manner.
A snarky voice criticizing, “He’s using that as a crutch.” (Gasp!)
My new perspective…

I sat on the stage racked with pain and listened to the conference closing for the night. Dessert awaited attendees just outside the room.

I survived a speaker’s nightmare - just barely.
Friday night, I was the opening keynote for a leadership conference.
The two-hour program had been powerful - and I was bringing it home with my signature closing story.

It took me over 11 hours to get from my San Diego hotel to the desk of my Pittsburgh hotel.

It was Cinderella’s carriage!
On the way to the hotel in San Diego, I saw what looked like Cinderella’s carriage next to us.
I asked the cab driver what was going on.

Was the message for me?
Walking downtown St. Petersburg, FL on an early Saturday morning, I came across some grafitti on the sidewalk - in the form of poetry.
