I Was the Invisible Woman!

The Invisible WomanThat’s me in the middle.

Can you see me?  The waiter at the restaurant definitely couldn’t!

With my red hair and preference for bright clothes, as my friend Doug says, I “don’t do well at hide and seek.”

At yet, for some reason, tonight, the waiter treated me as if I was not there.

When he and his assistant took the drink orders, he totally skipped me.

I had to beg another waiter to bring me a drink.

When the beautiful main entree was presented, the waiter did table-size service.

With a great flourish, he scooped up plates full of decadent food - for everyone except me!

Once again I was forced to beg for what should have been basic service.

I felt invisible - and I was frustrated.

Supposedly we were at one of the top restaurants in Baltimore - I sure couldn’t tell. (Grumble, grumble.)

Made me think of chapter leaders… how do you make sure your leadership team ”sees” everyone who shows up for your chapter events?
