Does Your Chapter Get the Gas?

The price of gas has been going up.

People are complaining about the costs at the pump. (Parents talk about spending $100/week to shuttle kids around.)
Resources such as the Gas Gouge Calculator and the AAA Fuel Cost Calculator are promoted.
Local TV news and radio shows identify the cheap gas location of the day.
The experts debate whether gas price increases have [...]

The Magic at the Meeting

Would you travel across the country to attend one of your chapter meetings?
Acar Altinsel, co-founder of Las Vegas-based Penguin Magic and creator of magic tricks did.  (That’s Acar on the left and James on the right.)
Acar has family in the Metro Detroit area and scheduled his visit around the Seth Godin event that took place [...]

I Almost Hit the Wall

Last week was a tough week for me.
I had too many balls in the air (from all aspects of my life) and felt like I was going one way straight into the wall.
Part of me wanted to be a good martyr - it was seductive…
I’ve got a strong mind. I could maintain concentration, make it [...]

Seth Godin and The Dip in Ann Arbor

Seth Godin brought the world: permission marketing, the idea virus, the purple cow - and now the dip.
Seth Godin is a world-class, marketing thought leader and the author of seven bestselling books.

Seth’s [...]

The Rest of the Story

(Yesterday, I analyzed whether or not to attend a chapter program which could be relevant for me. I had already paid my registration and [...]

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Do I really want to go?
Tonight I am registered to attend a chapter meeting. It’s not a group I belong to - however, it is one that might be a good fit for me.
I signed up last week - and today am debating whether or not I want to attend…
Here are my thoughts:
Pros:

I’ve already spent $40 [...]

The Early Bird Greets the Runners

This morning (Sunday) around 6:00 AM, I pulled out of my driveway to goto a Jr. League volunteer commitment.
(It was painful!)
From 6:30 - 8:30 AM, I was on the registration team for the For Women Only 5K. The race benefited the local Girls on the Run program which teaches girls about healthy living.
Even at 6:30 [...]

A Walk & Wag Wonder

Hi Guys! Raindrop here. Mom’s taking a nap so I thought I’d write in her blog…
We had the best day today! It’s my annual charity event - the Humane Society of Huron Valley Walk & Wag.
(I’m a rescue dog. I like to support the Humane Society so other dogs can get parents like mine!)
Anyhow, Dad and [...]
